Bio

Tamar Ginossar is a full professor at the Department of Communication and Journalism (C&J). Prior to joining C&J in 2011, she worked at the UNM Health Science Center as research faculty. As a health communication researcher, she has been working with communities and different stakeholders on issues related to healthcare access and health outcomes, as well as on the design of communication interventions and tools. Dr. Ginossar uses mixed methods and community engaged research. In the course of her research and funded project work, she has partnered with different communities and stakeholders in New Mexico, including healthcare providers, parents, cancer survivors, people living with HIV, environmental groups and more. Her most recent research applied computational methods to examine communication over social media about vaccination.
