Joseph Pacheco is a data research assistant for the Institute of Social Research at the University of New Mexico. He is currently a dual major in biochemistry and criminology while also pursuing a minor in psychology. While at ISR, he has worked on numerous research projects including medical data input regarding the Metropolitan Detention Center, the criminal justice system’s use of preventive detention and ride-alongs with police officers and specially trained personnel. After his undergraduate studies, he plans to proceed to graduate school to pursue a PhD in forensic chemistry and flourish in the field of forensic toxicology.
